19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a former number one, has had a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term trainer Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's first trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface after that period of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, reinforced by an better serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to force a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early-game chances in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
